The collective experience of the past few years has made one thing crystal clear: we need each other.
That's why we’re right behind the idea of Formational Communities. What are Formational Communities? They are small groups of 5-8 people who meet regularly to invest into each other's lives, supporting one another to grow and flourish. This is right at the heart of what Saint Augustine’s is all about — practicing the way of Jesus together.
Formational Communities are an invitation to participate in a particular way of life. Come, Jesus says, walk, watch, work, learn, keep company with me and you will have life in all its fullness. This kind of life is best done in community, surrounded by companions, friends, and mentors who will encourage and care for us along the way. And in turn, by showing up, we can provide for others, the very thing they need to grow and flourish.
We’re excited to see Formational Communities popping up all over Tāmaki Makaurau—these are the kind of places where strangers become friends, and friends become family, so whatever your family situation, life stage or connection to church, we reckon there's a place for you in a Formational Community and encourage you to take a step in this direction.
