God flooded into my life when I was a child and with every passing year I am filled with more and more wonder at his love and who he is.
I spent 11 years practicing law and 25 years in the investment industry. Governance principles and issues are relevant on a day-to-day basis in those fields. These days my wife Katrina and I now own a tyre business in Onehunga.
I love being part of the Saint Augustine’s community and have particularly appreciated the opportunity this last 12 months of being part of the Governance Committee and would be delighted to serve for another year.
I would welcome the opportunity to continue to serve the family of St Augustine’s by standing again to be a Governance Committee Member. I have attended St Augustine’s from the start, have been a regular volunteer at the Sunday Services and have served on the Governance Committee for a number of terms. I am currently serving as the Treasurer of St Augustine’s, a position I have held for the last four years.
I am married to Marian and we have two adult children and two grandchildren. I have been in business for many years, both in the UK and since moving here 29 years ago. I currently run a travel agent and tour operator business with Marian.
I have held leadership positions in churches both in the UK and here in NZ. With the attributes I bring, I feel I can continue to be a valuable member of the Governance Committee, as we navigate our way post-pandemic and into a new season within the church.
Hi, I'm Steve, and I've been a part of Saint Augustine's since day one. I have served on the Governance Committee for the past several years and would welcome the opportunity to continue. I love our church community and I'm excited about our future, particularly as we move on from the disruption of the last couple of years. As well as continuing to build our local church community, I believe Saint Augustine's has an important role to play in serving and building the wider church in New Zealand. To that end, we need church governance with vision for both the local church, and for what God is calling us into beyond ourselves. Outside of my church involvement, I work in finance, love family life with my wife Laura and our 18-month-old Rosie and enjoy all the good things NZ has to offer.
I’ve been a member of Saint Augustine’s for four years since we moved to Auckland from Tauranga. I have led a Formational Community for the past three years with my husband Wayne, and I actively serve on a Sunday morning in different capacities. I enjoy caring for people and seeing people connect authentically in a Church community. This is a reflection of our love for God and His people.
I’m currently the National Programme Manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I also coach people across different sectors using the Clifton Strengths Finder Tool. The volunteer programme I oversee has over 200 people involved, and I care about the people who serve and how they engage with the mission. I believe so much more can be achieved by a church that works well with its volunteers.
My husband Wayne and I have two adult children. We were both involved in leadership at our previous church in Tauranga, and have been involved in youth ministry for many years with Youth for Christ and Baptist Church Youth and Pastoral Ministry. I have previously served on governance boards and it would be an honour to serve Saint Augustine's as a member of the Governance Committee. I love that good Governance can bring clarity and certainty in keeping the mission and vision of a church central to the decision-making process and I would love to bring my energy and experience into this role as we bring God’s love to the city of Auckland.
Kia Ora Saint Augustine’s. I’ve been part of this church community since our first service, and it’s been a pleasure to have served as a member of the Governance Committee and as Synod Rep from 2018- 2020 and again in 2022. Josh and I have three children, Ari, Violet and Elsa and we are very involved in the life of Saint Augustine’s, serving in the set up team and the hospitality team, helping with Meet n Eat, our youth group gatherings and more. My background is as a lawyer and I currently lead the team at Tax Traders, a NZ fin-tech company. I have good experience in governance across different sectors including as the past current Chair of Parenting Place. I’m committed to governance that gets things done; is inclusive and strategic with decisions that are considered and timely. Saint Augustine’s has my heart, and I would love to continue to contribute as a member of the Governance Committee.
Kia ora, I’m Jeremy, standing for Church Warden for the Saint Augustines whānau. My wife Gemma and I have been attending Saint Augs since the beginning, and we’re passionate about this community being a place where we can encourage one another to seek God, worship Him together, and raise our children to know His goodness. Being Church Warden has been a great privilege and I would love to represent the church once again this year in this way.
